The title “Symbiosis” has been given to this project-album because that’s the first day ever in my life that I have felt so close to my synths, I was in harmony with them, them and me were one, they were doing all I asked them to do, that’s the first time it ever happened to me ! All the melodies were coming without delay in my mind and translated instantly by my hands, that was wonderful !

Symbiosis Project is composed of two phases, called “Day One” and “Day Two”. This simply means the album has been composed in two days, April 14th and April 15th.

The first phase, “Day One”, begins like Révolution Industrielle suite (from Jean Michel Jarre's album Révolutions), with a punchy lead, and a powerful drum track, the chords in the background have a huge dynamic, it represents the beginning of the day, just after having got up,showing the joy and the emotion at the same time while coming in the studio, powering on the synths, wondering what will be composed today, and watching the wonderful sky, with some clouds coming from the deep landscape.

Then, Symbiosis Part.2 comes with a deep chord, spacy effects, this track is like a wait, empowered by the wonderful sound of the Mellotron which perfectly fits with the chords from the Roland D50, then it goes in the background with a highpass filter.

Afterwards, Symbiosis Part.3 is introduced by some chords from the Roland D50, doubled with the Roland JP8000, and arranged with Kraftwerk-ish drum loops. Chord arrangements in loop, like the wind which brings the dark clouds. All the loops then go thru the highpass filter, the sky is getting darker.

After that, Symbiosis Part.4, a powerful phased pad comes, with some Mellotron sounds trying to tell a message, a Vangelis-ish lead sound comes in, and develops itself, melancholic melody, in loop, surrounded up and then by the beauty of the Mellotron, and all the loops are taken by the highpass filter and go to right, then left, looking for the other one…

Symbiosis Part.5 finishes the “Day One” with a highpass filtered sequence, coming from the faraway, under the rain and the thunder, then it comes closer, the sound is calling for something, getting higher, and getting away, under the rain…

Oh, wait, Day One is not finished, there is Symbiosis Part.6, an echo to Symbiosis Part.5, an answer to it. We are under the rain, walking alone in the deep dark of the night, the melody of the previous part in our mind, and suddenly, we remember it better, it surrounds us ! The melody is playing around you, it's not raining anymore ! A bright interval which won't last a lot, the rain is back again, with thunder...

This is the end of “Day One”, what will “Day Two” bring us ?

Day Two begins with Symbiosis Part.7, a new day starts, joyful, funny, a punchy and catchy bass introduces it us, accompanied with the strings from the Mellotron, then the drums come by layers, an arpeggio comes and develops the joy of the track. This new day is going to be a great day, windy, but not rainy ! The wind brings the melody with it, makes it turning around you, the melody doesn't want to be catched, but the thunder comes again ! Without rain, hopefully.

A Mellotron wants to say something : "remember yesterday, what I have done to you !". Symbiosis Part.8 begins, with the arpeggios of the previous part, this part could be called "Mellotron's Piece", the JP8000 dances with the Mellotron, the melodies are turning around, in the room, it's an happy day !

Did you notice as well ? The man and the machine are now one single person, no distinction between them two, in Symbiosis Part.9, the man is digitalized, his voice is changed, and the instruments would like to speak as an human ! They are trying to speak together. The instrument wants to be understood by the man, screams, the man wants to be understood too but by the instrument, tries to be convincing. In the end, they can't manage to do that, no need to speak, the music is enough !

Unexpected end for such an history, but this project is closed, these two days are over, I didn't feel the need to add more while composing, this project-album shows a new side of myself, a symbiosis with my instruments.
